The Effect of Cisapride on Bile Reflux Chronic Gastritis

Abstract
|
|
|
The therapeutic effect of cisapride on chronic gastritis was invertigated, postulating that symptoms of chronic gastritis may in part be caused by a deficiency of gastrointestinal motor function. Cisapride was administered in dosages of 10mg t.i.d. for 8 weeks. Cisapride was significantly effective in relieving symptoms ; The mean symptom score of nausea, belching, bloatedness, abdominal distension, early satiety and epigastric pain / burning was reduced from 2.2, 2.1, 1.9, 1.6, 1.9 and 2.2 to 0.1, 0.3, 0.4, 0.1, 0.4 and 0.6.
The results suggest that cisapride is effective in relieving symptoms of chronic gastritis.
